3 good weeks

Maybe 4 weeks if I really stretch it out. I had about 3 weeks of feeling pretty good on the whole. I should have done more during those weeks. I have hit the really uncomfortable part of this PG and that won't end until the babies are born. I am 22 weeks now and I need to get to 28 weeks to get a pretty good outcome. That is a mere 6 weeks from now- not enough time! I hope to go longer; maybe 32 weeks? I feel huge and every muscle in my body hurts. Not that I am complaining about any of this- we are so happy to be having these babies. I wish I could breathe a bit more and maybe be able to eat more as well. As of last week I have only gained about 8, maybe 9 lbs. Not good. The Drs. keep telling me I need to gain 20 lbs PER baby. That gives me 6+ weeks to gain 52 lbs. I definitely look like I have gained more than that so I don't know where it is coming from. My theory is that it is migrating up from my ass and thighs. Good thing I was vigilant about keeping a nice supply of blubber down there.

I am supposed to be on bedrest now and spending my days eating. Any other time in my life this would have been a dream come true. Now I can barely eat anything and nothing really seems appetizing. I am not sure I have the ideal body type to be carrying 3 babies. If only I were taller and had more room in the boobs to crotch area.

The babies are also engaging in some sort of Thaimerican Gladiator competitions. If one starts kicking the rest follow in suit. It is very bizarre and very nauseating at the same time. They especially like to practice at night when I am trying to sleep. Naughty babies!

My head exploded when I heard "20 pounds per baby," and I don't think I've recovered yet...

But hey, if you can't eat, you can't eat. Just eat whatever appeals to you and try not to worry. You're doing such a good job growing those little babies!!

I was telling Greg that you and your babies are doing well, but that you've only gained 9 lbs. He said, "Is that ok? It should be more like 20, right?"

I got to say, "Yes... per baby!" and watch his eyes pop out!

You look great and it is good to hear an update. I hope those babies stay put for a while and that it all goes well.

It's a real catch-22. isn't it? You have to eat to gain weight, yet the babies are taking up all your belly space so it's harder to eat! Just suck down those milkshakes, and I'm sure the babies will be fine. Hang in there - you're doing great!
